Superintendent’s Letter to families about COVID19 and the start of school

July 27, 2020

Dear Cripple Creek-Victor Families,

We are looking forward to welcoming our students back on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 and are committed to not only providing our students with a well-rounded education but also protecting our staff and students by putting safety protocols in place. The school- setting is unique but we will do our best to follow guidelines set forth by the Colorado Department of Education and local Public Health Departments.

In addition to in-person learning, CC-V will also provide online learning options for families with health-related issues or who have been successful with online learning. If you are interested in online learning, please contact the building principal to schedule an appointment.

For those returning to in-person learning, the following safety protocols will be in place, across the district, to help us remain as safe as possible-

  • All students and staff are required to have a mask with them at all times. They must be worn on the school bus and other times when social distancing is not possible- one mask provided.
  • Schools will provide additional hand sanitizer stations and increased opportunities for hand sanitizer use and hand washing throughout the day.
  • Students and staff will be required to be fever free for 72 hours without use of fever-reducing medication before returning to school. A doctor’s note is required to return to school.
  • Visitors and guests in school buildings will be restricted.
  • Social distancing, student grouping, and limiting large group interactions with be utilized
  • All staff, students & essential visitors will be screened upon arrival for temperature and symptoms
