Hello Everyone,

The Cripple Creek Elks Lodge #316 presented a check to the Cripple Creek-Victor School District for $2,000 for student health needs on August 25, 2020. A lot of this funding is utilized in the Cripple Creek-Victor Mountain Health Center, the School Based Health Center, that is sponsored by Penrose St.-Francis Primary Care Cripple Creek. This funding has been used for physical health needs, dental health needs, medication needs, and many important life necessities for all students. Students have been able to receive needed and deserved health care due to the ongoing funding. The Elks have purchased fresh fruits and vegetables and have gone into classrooms to educate our students about the importance of eating fruits and vegetables of all colors, as well as how everything they eat and drink matters with the My Plate recommendations through the United States Department of Agriculture. The Elks have been supporting our school district for almost a decade and they have been amazing! Please “THANK AN ELK” if you see someone in our community that has helped our students.

Thank you to Rhonda Duncan, Lindsey Chapman, Karen Zoellner, and all the others who make this happen for our students.

To make an appointment for both school children and adults, please call Penrose St. Francis Primary Care Cripple Creek located at the Cripple Creek-Victor Mountain Health Center at (719) 776-4310. For all students, parents must be present for the first appointment of the school year, and then students may be seen without their parents. Please schedule the back to school/well child check today. There are also behavioral health visits being provided by both AspenPointe Behavioral Health with Tisha Montesano and with A Willow Bends with Christina Palmer.

In good health,

Laureen L. Murray, RN, BSN
