Our Junior High School serves students 6th-8th grade. We exist to show them that “their greatest power is the power to choose.”
Dan Cummings ~ Jr./Sr. High School Principal
“I am excited to be joining the Cripple Creek – Victor community, and returning to Colorado at the same time. I grew up here, split between Colorado Springs and the Florissant area, where I still have family.
More than twenty years ago, encouraged by an inspirational college professor, I started into the field of education immediately after graduating from Colorado State University (’98). With a BA in English, I began my teaching career in an experiential, alternative school setting outside of Aurora. Since then, I have taught in parochial, public, international, and independent schools.
Along the way I picked up an MA in English Literature from the Bread Loaf School of English at Middlebury College (’06) and, at different points in my career, I served as Department Chair, Dean of Academics, and Dean of School. For the last six years I have served as a Director of Upper School (the independent school version of a Principal). I have always maintained a teaching load in combination with my administrative positions as I believe that the true pulse of a school exists in the classroom. I look forward to collaborating with families and community members in order to support students, and I look forward to working with students to assist them in reaching their goals.”
