CRESSON ELEMENTARY

Tonya Copley – Principal of Cresson Elementary

“My name is Tonya Copley, and I’m very excited to take on the position of principal at Cresson Elementary. I’ve known this is the place for me since I first started volunteering here in 1998.

Since I began working for the CC-V School District, I’ve taught one year in 3rd grade literacy, twelve years in 5th grade, seven years in 6th grade, elementary Summer and Friday Learning Clinics, middle school Summer Learning Clinics, and even one year of K-6 Music. For the last two years I’ve been the K-5 Reading Specialist.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with a minor in Reading from Purdue University. I  received my Master of Science in Elementary Reading and Literacy from Walden University.

My focus areas for the 2020-21 school year are Social-Emotional Health & Well-Being; Family, School & Community Partnerships and Student Achievement.

Even though many things will be different this year, one thing that will never change is my commitment to the students of our school. Their health, safety, and education will always be my top priorities.”
