Holly Sample
Principal, CCV Secondary School
My career in education has included many roles, including special education teacher and coordinator, business and art teacher, vocational administrator, assistant principal, and principal – all of which have strengthened my commitment to supporting students, staff, and strong school communities.
I grew up in Woodland Park, where I graduated from high school, then returned to Teller County after retiring in 2018. During my career, we lived in Oklahoma, Idaho, and Alaska before returning to Colorado to spend 26 years in Fort Collins. Over the years, we frequently visited family in Teller County, and I am grateful to call this area home again. I now live about eight miles away from Cripple Creek, near where my husband and I were married at Cripple Creek Mountain Estates many years ago.
Much of my work has focused on helping students feel known, supported, and prepared for the future. Whether working with students with diverse needs, fostering career-readiness opportunities, or supporting faculty, I have always believed that schools are strongest when people work together with care and purpose to build a culture of learning. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to lead the Cripple Creek-Victor Secondary School as we inspire, motivate, and support our students, staff, and families to pursue their aspirations and maximize their potential.
